Mao Zedong on Envelopes (3)

Here is another example of a postage envelope from the Cultural Revolution, used to post a letter in 1973. The message at the top wishes Chairman Mao a long life, while the quote along the left-hand edge stresses the importance of serving the people by preparing for war and natural disasters. The characters ‘最高指示’ (‘supreme instruction’) have been obscured by red ink. For other examples of these types of envelopes, click here.
